The first time I heard about Dexter Gordon was in the movie Round Midnight. Unfortunetely, I know too little about Jazz, bepop... my father is composer and musician in my country, he was the one who introduced me to this movie (Round Midnight). Dexter is an inspiraton to me, in my opinion the best "convincing" actor I've ever seen, he's a dream. He had a genuine melancolia and a joy in his eyes, that is disturbingly inspiring to me and that I'll never forget. It makes me really sad to think that I will never have the chance to meet this man. Love you, Dexter and thank you. Added: December 16, 2007 X |

Great site. I'm guessing that WoodyIII had a lot to do with this. Very good job. Dex gave us some of the very best music that has ever graced the planet. People will be discovering it into centuries ahead. I'm just happy that I got a chance to know this beautiful musician and human being before he made his transition. His music and spirit will always be an inspiration. "Go" Added: November 19, 2007 X |

All my congratulations for your site devoted to Dexter. I was likely the occasion and to know Dexter in Paris during the Seventies when I was pupil with the academy of music in cla**axophone. We could exchange our impressions on various subjects. I could note the richness of his philosophical culture a shutter of his personality which one knows less. At the time of one evening sprinkled well it had called me Little Bigmann because I seemed this day to better hold alcohol there that him. It is true that I then measure 1,65M in front of Dexter! I was a dwarf. For me Dexter joined together as an only one man all the tendencies of the saxophonists, I consider that it with succeeded in offering to his listeners a panel of**reat richness. I am called today Philippe Delle Case I do not play more, 60 years old I manage a site of female linen room. I thank in the passing Nicole Leroy thanks to which I could meet Dexter. I also thank Dexter on a purely posthumous basis for the moment pleasant that it gave me and that it continuous to give me. Added: November 19, 2007 X |

I often met Dex at Ronnie Scott's where I did research for my paintings. He was a great player and also able to keep me laughing as he recounted stories from his life. Added: November 18, 2007 X |
